The reason for the Avtar Purb of Guru Gobind Singh Ji is provided by Guru Sahib themselves in their bani called Bachittar Natak which is in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji.

Bibi Ji also explains the love between Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Vaheguru and the conversation that took place and how Guru Sahib took their seva to establish the Khalsa as commanded by Vaheguru.
