The slanderer, by Guru’s Grace, has been turned away.

ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਚ ਕਾ ਪੰਥਾ ਥਾਟਿਓ ॥

OUR ANALYSIS in the values of Malaysia Gurdwara Council (MGC) and what it stands for was mooted by the recent MGC’s letter dated 20-Mar-2017 accusing Gur Vichar of mischievously writing that GSC is a Panth Dokhi in addition to other claims.
The analysis was very interesting and we have commented on this MGCs letter through our post on 23-Mar-2017. The conclusion from that analysis was that
It appears that MGC is condoning those who are acting against the edicts of Akal Takht and SRM.
Continuing from that post we posted the following information on 24-Mar-2017. The conclusion in the post was that by
- banning the singing, reciting and discourse of Guru Gobind Singh’s banee in Dasam Granth,
- espousing the Ek Granth concept
MGC is contravening its own CONSTITUTION, the SRM and the AKAL TAKHT GURMATTA
Today we continue the analysis.
1. RESOLUTION MEETING HELD 21-MAY-2016
We will now look at the RESOLUTION discussed 21-May-2016 which MGC passed on 28-May-2016 as presented in their letter dated 12-Jul-2016.
Parties present at the resolution
MGC claim in the letter dated 12-Jul-2016 that besides
- Representatives of the Malaysian Gurdwaras Council (MGC),
- Khalsa Diwan Malaysia
- Sant Sohan Singh Ji Melaka Memorial Society Malaysia and
- Sikh Religious Scholars
attended the decision making process for the resolution.
In another letter dated 26-Jan-2017 MGC claims that those attending the same meeting on 21-May-2016 were
- Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia (SNSM) Note: SNSM was not present in the 12-Jul-2016 letter
- MGC
- Khalsa Diwan Malaysia (KDM)
- Melaka Vidayala (we suppose this means Sant Sohan Singh Ji Melaka Memorial Society Malaysia) and
- Sikh Religious Scholars.
Here SNSM has suddenly materialised. Which is correct? WERE SNSM AT THE MEETING OR NOT. Another question is who were the religious scholars present? Why are they not named?
Considering the importance of the resolution with its far reaching edicts such a discrepancy or omission is not acceptable. What does this speak of the diligence, efficiency and responsibility (appears to be more a “tidak apa – don’t care” attitude) by the management of the MGC?
Considering this lack of diligence and efficiency the questions are
- Does the MGC have the interest of the Sangat at heart?
- Is it making the correct decisions for the Sangat?

2. Conclusion from the RESOLUTION discussion
The MGC
edicted that “The Dasam Granth “ Bani” cannot be preached or recited in a Gurdwara. other than the 3 “Banis” that is, Jaap, 10 Sawayyas and Benti Chaupai.
In the post on 24-Mar-2016 title “MGC letters 12-July-2016 to 15-March-2017… are they keeping to the Takhts edicts, SRM and their Constitution … ?” (see LINK A) we analysed and showed that this edict was against MGC’s own constitution, the SRM and Akal Takht’s Gurmatta.
In this post we will analyse their reasons for making this MISLEADING decision and show the Sangat how MISCHIEVOUS and RIDICULOUS the logic behind this decision is.
In the first part “Sikh Rehat Maryada” MGC essentially reproduces the SRM but in (ii) conveniently leaves out the part “… (Guru Granth’s or Guru Gobind Singh’s hymns) …” after the word Gurbani. (see Figure 1). They however do not derive any conclusion

In the second part “ Position of Dasam Granth” (see Figure 2) they mischievously state GURBANI is all that is contained in the SGGS Ji. MGC seems to be mischievously manufacturing definitions to their fancies (by the way no source is mentioned for this meaning). Normally one refers to a credible source to get this information. As explained in the previous post (see LINK A) Gurbani, in Mahan Kosh, means “Banee of Guru Nanak Dev and his other forms” meaning all the other Gurus who bore his JOT. This includes Guru Gobind.
The MGC’s mischievously and whimsically manufactured meaning is in stark contrast to the definition in Mahan Kosh.

In (i) MGC mischievously and fancifully cites a FALSE document in support of their statement. We have shown that this document is FALSE in our post on 23-Mar-2017 (see LINK B) section (C).

In (ii) again MGC mischievously and fancifully makes a FALSE statement. The Gurmatta from Akal Takht issued on 6 June 2008 clearly and unequivocally states that the Dasam Granth is an inseparable part of Sikh History and Literature and the entire Sikh Panth is to accept the Dasam Granth in addition to the SGGS Ji which is also our LIVING GURU.
In (iii) MGC mischievously and chancefully cites the Jathedar of Damdami Taksal’s statement as a reason for rejecting the Dasam Granth Banee. The question is “are MGC abiding by the Rehat Maryada of Damdami Taksal or the SRM approved by Akal Takht? Akal Takht’s stand on Dasam Granth is explicitly clear as show in (ii) above.
Conclusion
What did this RESOLUTION DISCUSSION group comprising expected knowledgeable Sikh leaders (not clear who was there) deliberate on? Whimsically disregarding parts of SRM and manufacturing meanings!! Fancifully using FALSE information!! Chancefully citing Damdami Taksal’s statement while ignoring the edict of Akal Takht!!
The meeting appears more like a LOGIC VOID game of chance e.g. THE ROULETTE WHEEL IN A CASINO executed by MGC, SNSM, KDM, Melaka Vidayala and the Sikh Religious Scholars banning the activity the Malaysian Sangat has been doing since the time of their forefathers THAN A SERIOUS DICUSSION on matters affecting the Malaysian Sangat.
