transcript and comments by Harnaak Singh
In this video clip Baba Banta Singh is discussing the installation of Guru Hargobind Singh as Guru by Baba Buddha. Baba Buddha brought the tilak, mala, narial coconut, selhi and other items for the ceremony, but Guru Hargobind Singh requested a sword instead.
At this point the video starts with Baba Banta Singh mentioning the tarak controversy or argument created (by the missionaries) by linking the narial ਨਾਰੀਅਲ coconut to Brahmanvad.
Baba Banta Singh exposes the Kala Afghana/Ragi Darshan aligned missionaries who create such controversy by linking all the Sikh Gurmat activities to Brahmanvad. These nindaks say that using INCENSE is Brahmanvad, lighting a JOT is Brahmanvad, using NARIAL coconut is Brahmanvad.
Baba Banta Singh says that if everything is belonging to the Brahmins (or Brahmanvad), the Brahmins breathe through the nose, does that mean we should stop breathing through the nose and find another solution?
Even the sword and martial equipment was used by them. Does it mean we cannot use them? No we use them when necessary.
He explains that incense is preferred over perfume because perfume contains alcohol. Remember incense is preferable over perfume as SGGS Ji is our living Guru (Satgur jagta hai deo ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਾਗਤਾ ਹੈ ਦੇਉ) so we prefer not to use perfume that is alcohol based.
They say that Sarovar is water, Harmandir is a building and denigrate the sadhs ਸਾਦ spiritually inclined.
They sit amongst us, benefiting from what our Guru gives while at the same time Guru thee dhardi nu hath paee baythay nay ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਥ ਪਾਈ ਬੈਠੇ ਨੇ meaning attacking the Guru.
They are demeaning the power of our Guru on the pretext that they are preaching the truth. They are not preaching the truth, they are aap he Sikhi they berday tay chayk kar rahay nay ਇਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਿਖੀ ਦੇ ਬੇੜੇ ਤੇ ਛੇਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ making holes in the ship of Sikhi meaning acting in a manner that will result in the destruction of Sikhi.
Not only, they will drown, but take us along too.
This is not them awakening us as they claim, but actually eh sutay san, aur sanu swaa rahey han, jagthian nu ਏਹ ਸੁਤੇ ਸਨ, ਔਰ ਸਾਨੂ ਸਵਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ ਨੂ they are asleep (spiritually and shardawise bankrupt) and are putting us, who are awake, to sleep (depleting us of spirituality and sharda, the qualities which we possess now).
Incense is used to make the place pleasant to be in. This (e.g. Gurdwara) is the house of God (Khasam ਖਸਮ) and we want it to be clean and pleasant and use incense since perfume has alcohol in it. We must do our best for our LIVING Guru SGGS Ji, king of all the kings.
He explains the significance of the “JOT”. Jot is used to signify that our Guru gives us “light” in place of “darkness” meaning we acquire enlightening spiritual and temporal knowledge for our LIVING Guru SGGS Ji. Baba Banta Singh illustrates this with examples.
Many of such Nindaks have come and gone he says.
Then he goes on to relate the installation of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji the father/originator of the Miri-Piri concept. Even on this matter the missionaries question the installation of Guru Hargobind using swords miri-piri instead of the conventional narial and sehli by Baba Buddha used in the installation of the previous four Gurus. The miri sword was shorter than piri sword which signifies that piri Bhagti is more important than miri Shakti.
Are the missionaries also going to question this?
Harmandir Sahib represents Bhagti, while Akaal Takhat represents Shakti. Likewise Bhagti is derived from Guru Granth Sahib and Shakti from the Dasam Granth. The first five Gurus established Bhagti and the 6th and 10th Guru established Shakti. Harmandir Sahib was not imcomplete (adhura nahi see) but Guru Hargobind constructed Akaal Takhat, to establish Shakti (Shakti da parteet).
Therefore, it is doubted that the missionaries really understand the miri-piri concept especially since they denigrate Dasam Granth with the harshest of language.
Going along the thinking of the missionaries a question could be raised that “Why did not Guru Nanak gave a dang ਡਾਂਗ cudgel? Why did Guru Gobind have to give the sword?”.
This is how God meant the system to develop and Guru Nanak has confirmed this by his statement “jaysee may away khasam ki bani ….”. Likewise the fact that Guru Granth is prem ras LOVE and Dasam Granth is bir ras MARTIAL, again is God’s Hukam will. Everything runs within the Hukam.
Recall the controversies the missionaries have been creating (see Figure 1). Therefore, they might tomorrow start questioning “WHY DO WE NEED TEN GURUS, ONE GURU. e.g. GURU NANAK, SHOULD BE ENOUGH”?
BEWARE OF THE MISSIONARIES, THEY ARE OUT TO SINK SIKHI.
