In wake of the recent much regretted incident of chaos in Gurdwara Sahib Green Town Ipoh on 1 March 2017, we are strongly condemn the Executive Committee of the said Gurdwara for being ill informed of the past tainted history of the Parcharak Prof. Indar Singh Ghagga and the Sandesh (Message) issued by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib to the worldwide Sikh Sangat strongly prohibiting the him from conducting any parchar in Gurdwaras worldwide. The refusal of the Gurdwara Committee to pay heed to prior advise and strong evidence provided by wise and highly respected leaders of the Malaysian Sikh Panth is unacceptable.

We the EXCO of Sant Attar Singh Ji Brahm Vidya Niketan, stand united with Sri Akal Takhat Sahib on this matter, and strongly urge the organisations responsible for such a despicable act of disobeying theTakhat, from refraining to conduct further programmes by the controversial speaker proven to be a Kala Afghana cultist, that will further drive the wedge of disunity in the mainly peace loving Sikh Sangat of Malaysia.

We also urge the silent majority of Sikh Sangat of Malaysia to rise and speak up against those who organisations responsible for bringing the controversial speaker to Malaysia despite being aware of the Sandesh from our Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.

We are also appalled to be informed that the speaker was manhandled in the Gurdwara that resulted in his turban being forcefully removed. While we object to such actions we hold the Gurdwara committee responsible for not providing sufficient security to the speaker to ensure his safety and well being.

We the Niketan Foundation is stand united with Sikh Sangat of Malaysia and strongly urge the Malaysian Gurdwara Council from denigrating any member of the Sikh sangat by using worlds such as “taliban” in their offical statements and letters. We feel the recent parchar activities advocated by the Council such as Ek Granth, Ek Panth are the precursors to the scuffle that broke out in the Gurdwara and should be stopped immediately before young lives are lost.

Meanwhile we appeal to the Sikh sangat to act peacefully in our Gurdwaras and observe their maryada while conducting themselves in our houses of worship.
